SUMMARY: What keeps you rolling on. Buffy POV. Set in a post-series finale soon-to-be-shared AU.
Every time she was ready to give up, give in to the sudden stabs of despair, it saved her. On those nights when things spiraled out of control, she ended up awake just long enough to recognize the first amber shadows on the horizon. She'd stop and watch the sun inch into the sky, draped in clouds of rippling hues. Watch it burn away the nightmares and the doubts that shadowed her steps. Sometimes it seemed impossible, but in the end, even on those nights when the darkness seemed overwhelming, all she had to do was wait.
Morning always came.
