Too many stories, too little time...
May. 4th, 2017 08:12 pmI failed Camp NaNoWriMo (as is my wont) but I'm raring to get back to working on old unfinished projects again. On that theme I've been spending a good part of this year trying to get all of my writing organized on Google Docs (and on www.Martha.net).
I have a ridiculous number of unfinished projects.
A bunch of it is old prompt fills from my sga_flashfic heyday, but even greater is the number of stories left over from my childhood.
I could probably rattle off most of the stories of the dragons from the caves of Raydon or the tales of Ulm, God of the wolves without having to reread anything, but those stories are still stuck in my head instead of on paper.
And after that layer of history comes the alt.comics.fan-fiction days, which are just rife with stories that I started and never finished. (Note to self: Stop opening DreamWeaver drafts, that way leads madness.)
Add to that all the things I've started (and wandered off from) since and... I just don't know where to start.
We had a writer's group meeting at the library the other day and I ended up explaining the general setting and main characters to Tales of the Drunken Unicorn, which has several rough drafts of stories and zero finished things. And they seemed to really enjoy it. Which makes me feel even worse that I had nothing to actually give them to read after leading them on. :p
So. Yes. I need to start finishing things. That's the whole point behind my attempt at 52 Short Stories in 52 Weeks... but I'm only on story six. And we're on week 18.
Whoops.
It's never too late for New Year's Resolutions, so onwards! *rolls up sleeves and wades into the plot bunnies*
